Retired teacher and freed from the burdens and obligations he had imposed on himself by bringing the Priory of Mesnil Saint Martin (Lot-et-Garonne) to life artistically as a cultural and educational centre, while at the same time taking up his piano class at the Higher Music Centre of the Basque Country (Musikene) in San Sebastián, as well as giving master classes in other cities in Spain and abroad, from the juries of international competitions and a few episodic concerts, Emmanuel FERRER-LALOE now takes up the time he has recovered and the remaining energy to increase his already vast piano repertoire, and to give himself the pleasure of playing wherever he likes and sporadically, as he feels that he still has a lot to learn in many areas for which he is more passionate than ever.
Having performed for almost fifty years on all continents, alone in recital, as a soloist with orchestra and in chamber music with wonderful partners, and having trained a few top-level concert artists and a good number of teachers who apply his pedagogy successfully, he feels that the next generation is assured and now enjoys relative peace and quiet, because his ideals still inspire him to pursue a few projects, while sharing his life between France and Spain.
