The Una Corda Quartet was founded in Paris in 2020 in response to the irrepressible passion of its members for chamber music and more particularly for the string quartet.
Zhongjia is a graduate of the Shanghai Conservatory, the Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris and the CRR de Paris. She is currently studying violin at the Conservatoire de Gennevilliers in the class of Manuel Solans. She also studies baroque violin at the Conservatoire d’Aubervilliers in the class of Hélène Houzel. She regularly joins the Radio France Philharmonic Orchestra.
Currently a bachelor at the CNSMDP, Karen worked with Patrice Fontanarosa at the Schola Cantorum before joining the CNSM in the class of Olivier Charlier and Joanna Maszkowska in 2019. He won the 1st prize in the Flame competition in 2021.
Meiou, after training in violin, fully dedicated herself to the viola in 2018 with Emmanuel Haratyk at the CRD of Bourg la Reine and after obtaining her DEM with congratulations of the jury in 2020. She then entered the CRR of Paris in Laurent Verney’s class in the concert cycle (DFO) and now with Nicolas Bône.
Ingrid is currently in the cycle excellence at the CRR of Rueil-Malmaison in the class of Nadine Pierre. She worked with Michel Strauss at the CRR of Boulogne-Billancourt before joining Raphaël Pidoux’s class at the CNSM in 2014 and Marc Coppey’s class in 2017. She obtained her Master’s degree in 2020.
The Una Corda Quartet is currently being structured alongside Emmanuel Haratyk, a member of the Manfred Quartet and the ProQuartet teaching team, at the Conservatoire de Bourg la Reine. He took part in the course »Les Cordes en Ballades » in 2021 under the direction of the Quatuor Debussy, where he had the opportunity to perform throughout the Ardèche. He was appreciated by Walter Grimmer when he was invited to his master-class during the day in homage to Maurice Gendron. Since 2020, he has also participated in the contemporary workshop and recording session of the ProQuartet – Conservatoire de Paris CNSMdP « creations » project.
It is with Haydn and Beethoven on the one hand, and Schumann and Brahms on the other, that the Una Corda Quartet has been working since its beginnings with the aim of reaching the unity suggested by its name.
