Matthieu MARTIN
Born in 1980, Matthieu Martin trained at the Bordeaux Regional Conservatory in his hometown. In 1998, he was admitted first in his class to the Paris Conservatory (Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris) in Isabelle Moretti’s class. He won Second Prize at the Lausanne International Harp Competition in 2000 and earned his Advanced Studies Diplomas (D.F.S.) in harp (2002) and chamber music, performing in a duo with harpist David Lootvoet (2003).
Matthieu Martin participated in the French Youth Orchestra in 1999 and 2001 under the direction of Jesus Lopez-Cobos and then Emmanuel Krivine, where he received guidance from Marie-Pierre Langlamet. He was then unanimously accepted into the advanced studies program in 2002, studying with Isabelle Moretti and later Alain Planès. He was admitted in 2008 to the advanced studies program at the Lyon Conservatory (CNSM) under Fabrice Pierre.
In addition to his solo career, he has performed with leading French and international orchestras.
In 2019, he passed the competitive examination for the agrégation in music and now teaches music education and choral singing at the Les Bouvets middle school in Puteaux.
